Ah, Dutch nature..
The trees, the animals, the silence..
Everything you could ask for, in order to relax and get out of the city (except for mountains of course..).
Who takes care of Nature in the Netherlands? How do they deal with the challenges of conservation, of biodiversity, of encroaching cities and finally, climate change?
To answer these questions, and more, YoungRabo is going to visit Staatsbosbeheer in the Oostvaardersplassen!
We're going to visit the National Park Oostvaardersplassen, where we'll get to join a ranger in an 'ecocar' and ride throughout the park (including parts usually closed off from the public).
The ranger will answer questions like the above, but most of all show us a few of the beautiful animals and birds that roam throughout the Netherlands. Don't forget to bring your camera or binoculars!
Afterwards, we plan to drive to Almere and grab a few drinks there, first one on the Committee!
Note, a car/access to a car is essential to get to Oostvaardersplassen. A ride-sharing whatsapp will be created beforehand in order to pair people with a car.
Also, there is a contribution of 15€ and a no-show fee of 7,50€ in order to cover the costs of Staatsbosbeheer.
Here's a full program of the day:
13:00 - 14:00 Leave Utrecht and arrive at Buitencentrum Oostvaardersplassen
14:00 - 16:00 Excursion with Staatsbosbeheer
16:00 - 16:30 Travel to ~cafe in Almere~ --> To be announced.
