Get a taste of the Middle Ages today! Do you like leisure sports and making connections? If yes, get ready on to be amazed.
While on a paddle boat (waterfiets) in Utrecht, you can build a connection with refugees from the Utrecht region. The cooperative impact committee gives you the opportunity to paddle across beautiful Utrecht which leads you, among other things, along the most famous canal of all: the Oudegracht. ''Welkom in Utrecht'' helps the refugees to build up their own network, which contributes to their independent lives. The aim of this activity is to facilitate a more inclusive society and help the refugees to get to know people of their own age, have fun, and build a network. This will also help us as Jong Rabo members to interact with people of other cultures and backgrounds and create mutual understanding and tolerance while making friends! You can also help the refugees network through your connections or share knowledge through your work at Rabobank. If this type of activity gives you energy, please check out the Welkom in Utrecht website as they are looking for volunteers as they are looking for volunteers.
Did you know? The Oudegracht was constructed in the Middle Ages with its wharves on both sides, which makes it globally unique. The 12th Century Oudegracht was built to change the course of the Oude Rijn river. Connecting the river Vecht in the north to the Vaartsche Rijn in the south, the Oudegracht was destined to become an elongated harbor.
The trip will last 1.5 hours followed by a tour and drinks at Croeselaan, each boat has 4 seats (2 JR members and 2 refugees).
