Response to COVID-19: Uganda vs. the Netherlands
What do you see as the role of the bank in a crisis like this? We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic has spread with alarming speed, infecting millions and bringing economic activity to a near-standstill. Countries and companies are imposed on tight restrictions, and so are we. This is testing our collective capacity to respond to a crisis.
So, how díd we respond to a crisis like this? What happened behind the scenes of the Rabobank in the Netherlands, and how did our Partner bank DFCU (Development Finance Company of Uganda) cope with the situation? And most importantly, what can we learn from each other?
ABOUT THE PRESENTATIONS
First, the response of Rabobank in the Netherlands
The Damage Assessment Team (DAT) is activated to assess and take actions to prepare for and to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the bank. This means ensuring the continuity of our business processes and service to clients. The DAT does this by introducing measures that keep our colleagues safe and healthy (both physical and mental). During this session the DAT team will uncover what happened during their response on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Second, the response of DFCU in Uganda
The team from DFCU Uganda will tell about the immediate impacts of COVID-19 on the bank. They will focus especially on the positive outcomes of this crisis. Cause while the Coronavirus causes dramatic changes in how people live, it might reduce instances of other problems and hold valuable lessons for the future.
